RLSS Camp Survive & Save

Just to let you know about a fantastic opportunity for our youth members aged 14-18 years old… RLSS Camp Survive & Save!

This will be a weeklong residential beach camp that will run from Saturday 1st August through to Saturday 8th August at Margam Discovery Park in South Wales. This is a great opportunity to have fun, learn some important skills and make new friends. This is part of RLSS UK’s plans to build stronger links between youth groups, local clubs, branches and regions so they can have the chance to come together to have new and exciting lifesaving experiences.

CAMP INVOLVES: Beach training with a chance to complete a Bronze Survive & Save Beach Award, games and specific training around: leadership; teambuilding; communication; language and culture. The RLSS is committed to giving our young people the opportunities to develop into good, confident citizens and this is central to the aims of the camp.

CAMP INCLUDES: 7 nights’ accommodation in a state of the art education centre with on suite facilities; all catered meals and refreshments; all travel between activities once at the centre; a personalised t-shirt; all activities and trips and their Survive & Save Beach Award as well as other goodies.

The cost is £250 per participant (limited to 50 spaces) however, your Kent Branch Management Board has kindly agreed to subsidise up to £100 of the cost for up to 4 people and arrange for transportation to get you there! If you are interested in attending, please email us explaining why you’d like to go on camp, what you feel you’d gain from it and how you plan to use this within your club/Kent Branch by 6th May 2015.

Documents which you may find useful – an information sheet for parents and guardians, and an FAQ document are on the RLSS Kent Resource Centre for you to download https://www.facebook.com/groups/RLSSKentResourceCentre/
