East Kent School of Lifesaving will once again be providing lifesaving support for the Canterbury Duck Race run by The Rotary Club of Canterbury on the 11th July 2015.
Around 3000 rubber ducks will be open to sponsorship with prices starting from £1, before they are released with a very large splash into the River Stour. The winning duck takes home a cash prize but the real winners are the worthy charities that benefit from the funds raised, last year that figure was nearly £6,000 and we hope to make much more this year.
As well as the main event the club will be holding an activities morning to give you a chance to try your hand at some lifesaving skills, learn how to stay safe and what to do if you’re called upon to help out in an emergency.
The start time is around 10:30 (to be confirmed) at Toddlers Cove in Canterbury with the finish line being down by the Westgate Towers. We would love to see you all there on what would hopefully be a lovely sunny day.
